Day 1: Classic Mountain & Sea Roam

Xinghai Square (星海广场)

The largest city square in Asia and a landmark of Dalian. Feed seagulls here during the day (remember to bring sausages or bread), and be sure to go to the embankment to take photos with the Cross-Sea Bridge as the background—it's magnificent.

Lotus Mountain Observation Deck (莲花山观景台)

The highest point in downtown Dalian. Climbing to the observation deck offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the city and the vast sea. It is the best place to see Dalian from a "God's eye view."

Silver Beach (银沙滩)

Day 2: European Nostalgia Tour

Fisherman's Wharf (渔人码头)

A century-old fishing port full of artistic atmosphere. Colorful European-style buildings interweave with parked old fishing boats. When the lights come on in the evening, the cinematic vibe is maxed out.

Tram 201 (201路有轨电车)

A journey back in time on one of China's oldest tram lines (dating to 1909). Unlike modern light rail, these specific vintage carriages (DL-3000 series) feature wood-lined interiors, brass fittings, and a distinct "clanking" sound.

Oriental Water City (东方水城)

A huge investment European castle complex with canals running through it. You can take a gondola boat (fee required). The night lights are dazzling, making it feel like a Venetian fairy tale world.

Day 3: Artsy Citywalk

Nanshan Tourist Street (南山风情街)

This area retains many Japanese-style red brick old houses, which have now turned into various treasure coffee shops and boutique stores. It is very quiet and suitable for a Citywalk and taking photos.

Gangdong 5th Street (港东五街)

The most beautiful road leading to the sea. Here you can wait to photograph the spectacular scene of "giant ships passing through buildings." The visual impact is extremely strong under a telephoto lens.

Zhongshan Square (中山广场)

Dalian's music square, surrounded by century-old European-style buildings (former bank sites, etc.) from that era. When the night lights turn on, it feels like being on the streets of Paris.

Travel Tips

  • Clothing: Sea breeze is strong! Bring windproof jacket/hat except in mid-summer.
  • Seafood Trap: Do NOT eat seafood inside scenic spots (expensive/not fresh). Go to Malan or Changxing Market.
  • Best Season: May-Oct is comfortable. Jan-Feb for drift ice and lifeguards.
  • Tram 201: No AC, can be hot in summer. A short experience is enough.
  • Sun Protection: UV rays are strong even if the breeze is cool.
